SCDN Webinar: PennSEF – Fund Energy Improvements Today Using $$ from Energy Saved Tomorrow

If so, the Pennsylvania Sustainable Energy Financing (PennSEF) program might have the financial tools your organization needs to make those improvements now.
Please join the Sustainable Community Development Network (SCDN), facilitated by Sustainable Pittsburgh, and Local Government Academy for a webinar presented by the Green Building Alliance (GBA) to learn how you can utilize the power an ESCO with the technical assistance provided by the Pennsylvania Sustainable Energy Financing (PennSEF) program. Angelica Ciranni, GBA’s Pittsburgh 2030 District Senior Director, will explain how the PennSEF program, with GBA’s assistance, can help you reduce your energy, water, and operating costs.
The PennSEF program provides technical and legal assistance, as well as low-cost capital, for energy and water improvement projects for local governments, non-profits, and schools. All program costs are rolled into the issue of the bond. The program guarantees that your organization will see savings that meet or exceed loan payments. Savings will be monitored and verified regularly to ensure your upgrade is providing the promised payback.
Benefits to the PennSEF program include:
- Participating Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) are established companies with a history of performance guarantee programs.
- Pre-negotiated contracts are written by the PA Treasury and agreed to by participating ESCOs.
- Preliminary Audit at no cost, followed by an investment grade audit that must provide measures with at least 90% of savings quoted in preliminary audit.
- All program costs are paid within the bond issue.
- Guaranteed savings, monitored and verified regularly throughout the loan period.
About the Presenter:
Angelica Ciranni directs GBA’s Pittsburgh 2030 District, including the convening of District Partners, serving as the initiative’s primary spokesperson, and acting as the liaison between GBA and 2030 stakeholders locally and nationally. She designs tools, educational opportunities, and communication strategies for them. Angelica regularly speaks at public events and community meetings, as well as for national groups, including Architecture 2030 and other 2030 Districts. Angelica was previously Assistant Vice President and Sustainability Analyst at PNC Financial Services, and prior to that position, Angelica was the Sustainability Coordinator at the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Angelica holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, with a concentration in Construction Management and Sustainability.
