Student Sustainability Symposium

12-9-2016 at 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Featuring: tabling from clubs and organizations, presentations by student groups pursuing sustainability initiatives on campus, an administrative panel on sustainability, lunch, and finally a keynote speaker.

The event kicks off with tabling from student clubs, organizations, and community members. Find out what other hardworking students have been doing and make connections. This is a great opportunity for networking! Bagels and coffee will be provided.

Following the tabling, there will be presentations from students who have been working hard this semester on sustainability initiatives at Pitt. There will be time afterwards to go back to their tables and ask questions.

Next, an administrative panel will take the time to listen to students’ questions, concerns, and suggestions about sustainability on campus. They will bring this feedback back to administration’s newly formed sustainability committee.

After a lunch break attendees will then welcome the keynote speaker at 3pm: La’Tasha Mayes from New Voices Pittsburgh who will give a talk on environmental justice.
