Going platinum: State College to be a Platinum Certified Sustainable Municipality
The State College Borough announced on Tuesday it stood out as a leading sustainable community — after earning the Platinum Certification through the the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification program.
According to a media release, the state borough received this status through demonstrating its commitment to sustainability in operations, management and provision of public services through other actions within the borough.
Previously, the State College Borough was recognized at the Gold level of certification, which meant meeting the program’s performance criteria that tracked 131 policies and practices that define a sustainable community.
