PCRG’s Community Development Summit: Call For Session Proposals
“PCRG’s annual Community Development Summit has become the premiere learning and leadership exchange of its kind in the Great Lakes region. Our two-day event not only showcases our work with, and on behalf of, our 60 members; it also raises up the state of the art within community development. Over 500 thought and do leaders ranging from residents and citizen activists to nonprofit, business, and government professionals converge on the Omni William Penn to share experiences, learn, be inspired, and advance our shared agenda of equitable communities of opportunity for all. Won’t you share your story?
“A special focus of this year’s Summit will be a return to PCRG’s roots: growing access to capital – for individuals and businesses – and ensuring that we’re investing in people as much as place. How to access capital, and who can, is fundamentally shifting and at an accelerating rate. The movement towards financial technology, away from bricks-and-mortar banking, brings both new flexibility and further threatens to cut off access to capital in the communities most desperate for it. We seek proposals that underscore these issues and provide insight into how to make the new world of capital accountable to the communities who need it most and work for those we seek to lift up. We especially welcome sessions focused on such issues.
“Successful sessions will appeal to a broad audience while addressing the issues that face our neighborhoods and communities. They will provide concrete stories – successes and failures – of experiences presenters have had, and/or practical tools, strategies, and research to inform attendees’ work. Sessions will provide ideas and strategies that practitioners will be able to take away with them. Please use the below form to submit your idea no later than February 22, 2019.”
