Climate Leadership Training
10-17-2017 @ 8:00 am - 10-19-2017 @ 5:00 pm
The Climate Reality Project and The Heinz Endowments invite you to join Climate Reality Chairman Al Gore at its next Climate Leadership Training to be held from October 17-19 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Over the course of three days, world class scientists, communicators, and climate experts will join former US Vice President, Nobel Laureate and Climate Reality Chairman Al Gore to train citizens to become Climate Reality Leaders. The training will empower participants to organize their communities around meaningful action to address the climate crisis.
Organizers encourage anyone who may be interested in attending to register early as seating for this special event is limited.
Pittsburgh was thrust into the national spotlight after President Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, saying that he represented the citizens of “Pittsburgh, not Paris.” Yet Pittsburgh has become a national model of how cities can embrace clean energy and other climate solutions and prosper in the twenty-first century. Pittsburgh’s mayor has pledged that the city will be 100 percent renewable by 2035 and will support the Paris Agreement, regardless of what the White House does.
This will be the first training after the release of An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, the follow-up to the Academy Award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. Climate Reality trainings are prominently featured in the films as part of Vice President Gore’s work over the past decade to prepare a new generation of world changers to lead the coming wave of climate activism across the nation and around the planet.
Pittsburgh’s rich history of energy production and top-tier engineering programs puts it at the forefront of breakthrough innovation. At the training, attendees will explore the exciting energy solutions that are born and raised in the region
