EcoDistricts Foundation Course

EcoDistricts is hosting the EcoDistricts Foundation Course in Millvale on Tuesday, October 3. This daylong training and workshop covers the EcoDistricts Protocol and EcoDistricts Certified, a new model for neighborhood development that puts equity, resilience, and climate protection at the center of all decisions.
The course covers the EcoDistricts Protocol including commitments to imperatives in the areas of equity, resilience and climate protection; formation of a governance structure; development of a roadmap; and ongoing performance reporting. It outlines core requirements of EcoDistricts Certified. Case studies address lessons learned from early EcoDistricts projects and interactive working sessions allow attendees to apply EcoDistrict concepts to a hypothetical district. It also prepares attendees to become EcoDistricts Accredited Professionals.
Course learning objectives include:
- Learn the EcoDistricts mission & approach
- Understand the EcoDistricts Protocol
- Know how to navigate the certification process
- Be prepared to take the EcoDistricts AP exam
The course is for those engaged in neighborhood sustainability – architects, planners, public agencies, developers, community-based organizations, etc.
