“Get the Lead Out” Conference Call

The call will be split into two major sections:

  1. Jerry Roseman, MscIH, is director of environmental science and occupational safety and health for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Health & Welfare Fund & Union. He will give a scientific and informational overview of the issue of lead contaminated drinking water in Pennsylvania’s schools. He will help contextualize the issue and provide a basic understanding of the political and scientific causes behind it. Links to his recent articles can be found below:

  1. PennEnvironment will speak about their “Get the Lead Out” campaign and the efforts they are taking both locally and statewide. They will provide information on how groups can engage in the issue and resources for them to do so.

PennEnvironment’s recently published report, “Get the Lead Out: Ensuring Safe Drinking Water for Our Children at School” covers the issue, its importance, policy recommendations, and more. Key points will be touched upon during the call.
