p4 Conference

The p4 Conference, hosted by The Heinz Endowments in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, is organized around the central unifying framework — “People, Planet, Place & Performance.” This is Pittsburgh’s second p4 Conference designed to continue its role in helping to create new standards of excellence, equity and inclusion for Pittsburgh’s future development. Key issues addressed by p4 include sustainable and innovative urban design, technology and energy efficiency with an overarching focus on racial and economic equity, inclusion and social justice.

Central to this work is the importance of strong neighborhoods and the critical role of urban planning and development. p4 strives to integrate the region’s strengths in its vibrant, diverse communities with a fresh approach to city planning, design and development with the aim of establishing Pittsburgh as a “city of the future,” where all of its citizens benefit and where no one is excluded.

This year’s Conference will provide opportunities for evaluating the progress made since p4’s launch last year and exploring next steps in maintaining its momentum towards achieving its goals. While Pittsburgh’s transformation over the past decade has been dynamic, our work is not done. This is a unique and historic moment for Pittsburgh to build a new framework for its continued success to benefit the region now and for future generations. Please join us for this important event.
