Public Hearing in Clairton Concerning Pollution Caused by Fire

The PA House and Senate Democratic Policy Committees are holding a hearing next Thursday, February 7 on the air pollution caused by the Clairton Coke Works fire. Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny) and Rep. Austin Davis (D-Allegheny) will chair the meeting.
The hearing will focus on the recent fire at the Clairton Coke Works and the spikes in sulfur dioxide emitted in the Mon Valley. Improving the air quality of the Mon Valley will also be discussed. The meeting is open to the public and while there will not be opportunity for members of the public to speak, citizens can submit a statement into the official record by emailing it to Jim Dawes, House Democratic Policy Committee Executive Director, at JDawes@pahouse.net.
