Shining Light on Solar Energy Workshop

Solar power? In Pittsburgh? Yes! Solar energy is very effective and economical, and is the reason behind hundreds of western Pennsylvanians going solar. Solarize Allegheny is a community-based outreach program sponsored by the Heinz Endowments and the Allegheny County Health Department designed to help homeowners go solar. This campaign educates people about solar technology and connects them with pre-screened local solar installers in order to receive a free quote for their home or business. You will find out at the workshop if your home is a good candidate for solar.

Pittsburgh non-profit Conservations Consultants, Inc. will also be on hand to provide information about the Sound Home Plan, a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program, which is a one-stop-shop to help Pittsburgh-area homeowners identify and make their homes more healthy, safe, and energy efficient.
