Inspire Speakers Series: Social Impact and Investing

11-2-2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$20

The world of private capital is founded in a specific and often individualized notion of prosperity. But as 21st century communities face increasingly interconnected challenges, investment firms are broadening their strategies to consider the triple bottom line, or their potential impact on economic, environmental, and societal wellbeing. As speakers William Shutkin, Joshua Pollard, and Rich Overmoyer will discuss, solutions to the world’s most intractable issues lie in unusual partnerships, leveraging the specific strengths of businesses, nonprofits and governmental institutions. Jaison Morgan, creator of the MacArthur Foundation’s 100 & Change competition, will follow with an in depth examination of creative incentives to catalyze social change.

Featured Speakers:
William Shutkin – Consultant, Zocalo Community Development
Jaison Morgan – CEO, Common Pool
Joshua Pollard – CEO and founder, Omicelo
Rich Overmoyer – President and CEO, Fourth EconomyD
Dr. Aurora Sharrard – Executive Director, Green Building Alliance

Doors open at 4:30 pm for networking, food, and drinks.  The lecture begins at 5:30 and is followed by a Q & A session with the speakers.
