Sustainable Breakfast at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium
3-31-2017 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Join Sustainable Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium for a special breakfast at the award-winning Jambo Grill to celebrate the sustainability successes of Service Systems Associates (SSA)! SSA manages the daily operations of the Zoo’s food and retail concessions, including those related to special events. During the breakfast, hear how SSA is using a sustainability-first approach and encouraging their employees to do the same. At the end of the program, Margie Marks, Curator of Conservation Education, will lead a behind the scenes visit with some of the animals.
SSA has been a proud supporter of One Degree of Change, the Zoo’s sustainability initiative developed on the premise that small changes can lead to big results. In 2015, SSA opened Jambo Grill, a certified three-star facility of the Green Restaurant Association. Jambo Grill earned Gold Plate designation as a Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant in 2017. SSA has advanced many successful programs including Meatless Mondays and Sustainable Seafood Fridays.
Come for a sustainable breakfast, before the Zoo opens to the public and learn innovative ways to implement sustainable practices in the workplace and the community. Seating is limited; register today!
