Workforce development in the tri-state region’s STEM sectors: considering issues over the horizon and practical solutions

10-21-2016 @ 11:45 am - 1:15 pm

The Pittsburgh Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is pleased to announce the next session in our quarterly learning series designed specifically for the busy professional.  This session will feature Gabriella C. Gonzalez Ph.D., Senior Sociologist, RAND Corporation.  Dr. Gonzalez will summarize recent RAND research on workforce skills supply and demand in the PA, OH, and WV energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. She will also discuss practical solutions and collaborations already in place across the states that are designed to offset increased demand and reported skills mismatches in the region.

For more information on Dr. Gonzalez and her work, please visit: http://www.rand.org/about/people/g/gonzalez_gabriella_c.html

Free to attend but prior registration required.

For more information on the session or to suggest a subsequent topic please contact Joseph Ott at (412) 261-7947 or joseph.c.ott@clev.frb.org

The FEDTalk series is designed to accommodate attendees’ mid-day schedules and includes lunch, a foundational presentation followed by a facilitated discussion – including Q&A.  Featured presenters help frame discussions on a broad range of community and economic development issues by providing attendees with insights on regional and national trends, emerging issues, and best practices.
