SUMMARY:Steel City Codefest - Tech Chats
DESCRIPTION:Coming in January\, the Steel City Codefest team will be holding Tech Chats around the city. These events will provide an opportunity for local government and nonprofits to discuss their technology challenges with a panel of experts. Participants are encouraged to come prepared with technical questions or issues to discuss. Each nonprofit/government organization will be given individual time with the experts. The experts will discuss potential technology solutions to your issues\, focusing on things that are free or low cost. All events will be the same so you only need to participate in one.

SUMMARY:EcoInnovation District Open House
DESCRIPTION:On November 29th\, the Department of City Planning (DCP) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) hosted a public design charrette to reimagine the publicly owned properties surrounding the intersection of Fifth and Dinwiddie. Over 50 attendees spent their morning working together in groups to develop designs consistent with the recently adopted Uptown / West Oakland EcoInnovation District Plan. \nAt the January open house you can review and comment on those designs and examples from other cities to determine what aspects are best suited for Uptown. Your input will help shape a request for proposals the URA will release for development on this land. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. \nThis event is in a wheelchair accessible building. Accommodations can be made as needed if requested one week prior to the meeting. Send requests to Richard.Meritzer@pittsburghpa.gov. \nRead the Charrette blog post. \n  \nThis is an informal event. Arrival and departure is at your convenience.
