DESCRIPTION:Steel Chef is an annual\, 11-week program that provides teens the tools and education they need to prepare healthier foods while teaching them entry-level skills needed to work in restaurant kitchens. The program serves as a career pathway to the restaurant industry.\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Focus On Renewal and Heritage Valley Hospital\, for the culinary competition of 2019! Watch a group of Pittsburgh teens and local chefs as they battle it out chef-style on stage to determine who has what it takes to win the coveted title of “Steel Chef”.\n\n\n\n\n\nThere will be three teams of one chef per team. Jr Chefs have been training since January to develop the necessary basic prep and sous chef skills in order to compete. Competitors for the “Steel Chef” title will be rated and determined by local celebrity judges — Kevin Sousa of Superior Motors\, Keyla Cook of Casa Brasil\, and Mark Snyder of C2E2L. The event will be held at the Father Ryan Arts Center theater in McKees Rocks.
