SUMMARY:Reopening and Staying Open - How to Assess the Past 60 Days and Prepare for What's Next
DESCRIPTION:Provided by Pittsburgh SCORE: \nIf you’re like many businesses\, you are probably working overtime to navigate the ever-changing landscape created by C19. Whether you’ve already reopened or will be opening this summer\, August will be an ideal time to assess what you’ve experienced already and develop a strategic plan for the rest of the year. \nThis session\, presented by SCORE mentor Suzanne McGrath\, will help business owners – including retailers and restaurants – learn from the experience they’ve had over the summer to: \n\nCreate a pro forma Profit & Loss statement as a basis for planning the next 12 months\nMinimize costs and maximize revenue through market positioning\nDevelop strategies for dealing with capacity limits\, especially in a restaurant context\nConsider how to plan for a potential second wave as well as long term changes in consumer behavior\nAnalyze options for dealing with lease issues\n\nThe goal of this webinar is to address these very real issues that will continue to pose existential challenges to many businesses at least through the next year.

SUMMARY:How Pennsylvania Will Fight Climate Change with the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative
DESCRIPTION:The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold an informational presentation this Thursday on how Pennsylvania can reduce climate pollution by participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) via webinar. \n“Climate change is one of the greatest threats to Pennsylvania today\, and we as a commonwealth must take action to reduce the pollution that is the leading cause\,” said DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell. “To prevent the worst impacts of climate change we must reduce carbon dioxide emissions\, and participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is a proven way to do that while improving the economy.” \nThe presentation will outline how participating in RGGI will lower greenhouse gas and other air pollution emissions from electric power plants. If enacted\, Pennsylvania can reduce climate pollution by 180 million tons of carbon dioxide over the next decade. The presentation will also cover benefits of the program\, including health and economic benefits.
