Check out our website for more information: https://www.energy-exchange.com/ \n\n\n\nHow Energy Exchange is Helping \n\n\n\nAs our nation pivots to clean energy and a sustainable environment\, we have a unique opportunity to ensure that disadvantaged communities receive the benefits of new and existing Federal investments in these areas. \n\n\n\nIn support of the Justice40 Initiative\, Energy Exchange is offering no cost registrations to select qualifying applicantsto help ensure the benefits of federal energy and water management training\, networking\, and trade show attendance support individuals from or who work with disadvantaged communities. Visit this interactive map to view identified disadvantaged communities to see if you may qualify for this opportunity: https://screeningtool.geoplatform.gov/en/#3/33.47/-97.5 \n\n\n\nIf your organization is located in or works directly with disadvantaged communities\, visit https://www.energy-exchange.com/justice40/ for more information and to apply for the Justice40 Initiative rate. By filling the energy and water management community with well-trained experts from disadvantaged communities\, we’ll help ensure more clean energy jobs and greater environmental justice for all. \n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:Climate Change: The Cost of Inaction
DESCRIPTION:Provided by: E2 \nClimate change is now a serious economic issue. Last year\, climate-related disasters inflicted nearly $150 billion in damage to America’s economy. In Pennsylvania alone\, climate disasters led by Hurricane Ida cost the Commonwealth between $2 billion – $5 billion\, according to NOAA. And that’s not including\nrising insurance rates\, increased food costs from flooding and drought\, lost worker productivity and other expenses that are hitting businesses in the balance sheet and every Pennsylvanian in the pocketbook. The good news is that we can blunt the growing cost of climate change while simultaneously creating\njobs\, driving new economic growth and attracting new investments through smart climate and clean energy policies now being considered in Harrisburg and Washington\, DC. Please join fellow business leaders\, policymakers and E2 to learn more and help create a brighter\, more prosperous Pennsylvania.

SUMMARY:Bridge to 2030: Embodied Carbon and Existing Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Provided by: GBA \nEmbodied carbon consists of all the greenhouse gas emissions associated with building construction\, including those that arise from extracting\, transporting\, manufacturing\, and installing building materials on site\, as well as the operational and end-of-life emissions associated with those materials. While operational carbon and energy use reductions are critical to reducing impacts of the built environment\, project teams\, owners and operators must also consider the impacts of a building’s embodied carbon. \nThis topic has been on the minds of green building industry stakeholders for years\, and while it remains abstract or mysterious to some\, interest continues to grow as it becomes more tangible to more people – and as it becomes a larger portion of our buildings’ overall impacts.  In an interview about coming trends in the green building industry in early 2021\, GBA member Pete Jefferson listed embodied carbon as one to watch\, as the conversation has been evolving rapidly. \nAt this event\, we will explore what embodied carbon is\, how it relates to operational carbon\, what it means for existing buildings\, and how building operators can take advantage of retrofit opportunities to maintain low embodied carbon throughout the life of their buildings. Our speakers represent local expertise related to products and materials\, sustainable building standards\, building science\, and operations.
