Prior to coming to Moms\, Heather served as the first African-American\, first female and youngest mayor of Greenville\, MS. In 2014\, she was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as Regional Administrator for Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Southeast Region. The event is organized by the Bard Center for Environmental Policy\, with various universities from across the nation hosting webinars in their state.  \n“As part of the state’s land-grant university\, Penn State’s Sustainability Institute is excited to provide all Pennsylvanians — kids\, teachers\, government officials and leaders of all kinds — the opportunity to hear from some of our state’s best climate champions about what we can do as a commonwealth\,” said Peter Buck\, academic programs manager at the institute. “Pennsylvania has a unique and powerful role to play in taking on the climate challenge. We are a major energy producer\, a leader in agriculture and one of the most forested states in the union. Watch a group of Pittsburgh teens and local chefs as they battle it out chef-style on stage to determine who has what it takes to win the coveted title of “Steel Chef”.\n\n\n\n\n\nThere will be three teams of one chef per team. Jr Chefs have been training since January to develop the necessary basic prep and sous chef skills in order to compete. Competitors for the “Steel Chef” title will be rated and determined by local celebrity judges — Kevin Sousa of Superior Motors\, Keyla Cook of Casa Brasil\, and Mark Snyder of C2E2L. The event will be held at the Father Ryan Arts Center theater in McKees Rocks.
