From Sewage Fumes to Vehicle Fuels!
What would you do if you could convert sewage fumes and use it for your public vehicles? Innovations, as such, are becoming a reality in Portland, Oregon. Adding to the already LEED-certified facility, Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plan, serves 600,000 commercial and residential customers. According to Mother Nature Network, “The construction of a methane-to-natural-gas conversion facility along with an on-site RNG fueling station is the biggest greenhouse gas-curbing project in the 65-year history of the plant.” A facility like this could potentially fuel not only personal vehicles and public transportation but could be a low-cost, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional hydroelectric projects like dams.
