Montgomery Township has been honored with a rare distinction as one of the state’s “gold level” sustainable communities, officials announced.
The township earned the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification’s highest level, gold, for meeting high standards across 131 different policies and practicies.
“Montgomery Township is proud to be recognized as a Gold Certified Community by the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification program,” said Candyce Fluehr Chimera, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, in a statement. “Montgomery Township has a long history of commitment to saving taxpayer dollars, using resources efficiently, and applying best practices in municipal government and community development. We are pleased to be recognized and be part of the regional community of good government.”
