Sustainable Pittsburgh takes our role of “convener” seriously. The needs and opportunities of sustainability in our region are vast and varied. Believing in the power of collective impact, we have brought together individuals and organizations from across industries to work together on important opportunities for Southwestern PA.

CEOs for Sustainability is exemplary executive leadership and collaboration to drive positive change in the region.
Over 40 C-level business decision makers have joined this invitation only network, in order to further their own organization’s sustainability goals and share success with others.
The Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification, a project of the Pennsylvania Municipal League and Sustainable Pittsburgh, is a voluntary performance recognition program to help municipalities achieve their sustainability goals to save money, conserve resources, and encourage innovation.
District PGH is a collaborative of local organizations working to accelerate neighborhood and district-scale sustainable development that promotes climate resilience and equity in the greater Pittsburgh region. In addition to Sustainable Pittsburgh, members include New Sun Rising, Green Building Alliance, The Forbes Funds, and evolveEA.
The Plastics Collaborative is a collective working to respond to the challenge of single use plastics in the region. With Sustainable Pittsburgh serving as the backbone organization, more than a dozen organizations are exploring policies, pilot projects, and messaging to move the needle on more sustainable options.
