Sept. 11 – 13: Living Product Expo – Healthy Products for Everyone
Hosted by the International Living Future Institute at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the 3- day Expo brings together leading minds in the design and manufacturing industries to lead the revolution toward healthy and beautiful spaces for everyone.
Sept. 12: Sustainable Pittsburgh Presents Responsible Waste Management
Hosted at PNC Park, with an optional tour to follow of the Pirates’ cleaning operations, this program pulls back the curtain on waste and recycling options for businesses, organizations, and municipalities located in southwestern PA.
Sept. 13: Sustainable Pittsburgh Challenge Workshop: Water Systems and Regional Resilience
Taking place at the Energy Innovation Center, this workshop addresses the reality of the region’s aging water infrastructure and explores what multiple stakeholders are doing to protect and repair Pittsburgh’s water resources.

Tucked away in the quaint neighborhood of Upper Lawrenceville, Katt Schuler can be found doing what she does best – rolling pepperoni.
In 2017, Schuler found herself inspired to participate in the Sustainable Pittsburgh Challenge. Since her business was still fairly new, Schuler was able to use the Master Playbook designed by Sustainable Pittsburgh to stimulate the formation of the business by providing examples to establish policies and procedures.
Schuler says getting involved in the Challenge and meeting other businesses helped increase her reach in the community, which made participating well worth it. With hard work and support from other sustainable businesses, Rolling Pepperoni placed first in the Micro-Business Division that year.
