Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, November 29, 2022. This day celebrates generosity locally and around the world and is a great opportunity for Sustainable Pittsburgh to remind our many constituencies of the importance of their financial support for our mission to create a more equitable, resilient, healthy, and prosperous region.

#Giving Tuesday will kick off Sustainable Pittsburgh’s end of year fundraising efforts which will include information featured in our Sustainable Pittsburgh Insider newsletters, special emails, a direct mail solicitation and social media posts. We are asking for your help in spreading the word about the importance of our work in building a more sustainable Pittsburgh region, why you are involved and, most importantly, why you financially support Sustainable Pittsburgh.

How can I help make Sustainable Pittsburgh’s Year End Fundraising a success?

  • Share Sustainable Pittsburgh’s #GivingTuesday and Year End fundraising-related social media posts on your own social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
  • Tag Sustainable Pittsburgh on your social media posts so we can share your posts with our followers too!
  • Create your own social posts to promote giving to Sustainable Pittsburgh on Giving Tuesday. Create your own content using the samples, photos and graphics provided below. Get creative, use your cell phone to create a short video clip, videos get substantially more views on social media!
  • Forward Sustainable Pittsburgh’s newsletter and emails to your contact list, adding a personal message encouraging your network to give and get involved in making our region a better place for everyone!

#GivingTuesday and Give Big Pittsburgh

INTERNAL NOTE: Sustainable Pittsburgh’s matching fund supported through generous gifts from our current and former board members is being used to encourage donors to go directly to our website https://sustainablepittsburgh.org/donate/ to make a gift on November 29, Giving Tuesday. All gifts received on our site that day up to $2,500 will be matched dollar for dollar with our matching fund.

Sustainable Pittsburgh is also participating in the local Giving Tuesday effort, Give Big Pittsburgh. If donors prefer, they can support Sustainable Pittsburgh by giving through the Give Big Pittsburgh platform https://www.givebigpittsburgh.com/organizations/sustainable-pittsburgh. These gifts will not be matched and will be charged an additional percentage in fees on top of credit card fees.
