Social Equity Sprint Mini-Challenge 1: Does your organization have a commitment to social equity?

To earn bonus points in this challenge, simply log in to the Sprint program and answer this question, which is included in the program. To earn the bonus points, you must answer the question affirmatively and submit your sprint responses by Friday, December 9th. Because the sprint program tailors content by sector, organizations from different sectors will see slightly different versions of this question. See which question you will find in your version of the sprint:

For businesses, nonprofits, and other institutions participating in the Workplaces version of the Social Equity Sprint:

This question is listed under the “social equity strategy” section of the program. You must select option A and/or option B to earn additional bonus points in addition to the regular points allocated to this question shown below.

Which of the following statements describe your organization’s high-level commitment to advancing social justice and equity? Select all that apply.
A. Our mission or vision statement includes explicit reference to social justice and/or equity (e.g., a more just society, more equitable access to a service or product, etc.) (1 point)
B. We have a written, stand-alone commitment to or vision for a more just and equitable society. (1 point)
C. Our social equity commitment is publicly shared. (1 point)
D. None of the above (0 points)

For restaurants or retail shops participating in the Shops or Restaurants version of the Social Equity Sprint:

This question is listed under the “business operations” section of the program. You must select option A to earn additional bonus points in addition to the regular points allocated to this question shown below.

A. Yes (2 points)
B. No (0 points)

For municipalities participating in the Communities version of the Social Equity Sprint:

This question is listed under “municipal operations.” You must select option A and/or option B to earn additional bonus points in addition to the regular points allocated to this question shown below.

The municipality has made a public declaration to promote social equity in general or a specific dimension of social equity (e.g., racial equity) in its community. Select all that apply.

A. The municipality has passed a resolution to declare its position on and vision for social equity. (4 points)
