A couple weeks ago, Sustainable Pittsburgh convened the Sustainability Practitioners Network , marking an important relaunch of this initiative that has been a key platform for sustainability professionals in the Pittsburgh region since 2008. The event focused on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting and brought together a diverse group of professionals from corporate, public, higher education, and nonprofit sectors.
Key takeaways from the event included insightful panel discussions where speakers shared real-world insights on integrating GHG reduction strategies into their operations. These discussions were complemented by interactive breakout groups that dove into different phases of the GHG journey—from initial data collection to setting long-term sustainability goals. The combination of theory and practice provided a solid foundation for understanding and implementing GHG strategies.
