This week join Sustainable Pittsburgh in being part of a city-wide celebration of Earth Day! Acrobatique Creative, working with the City of Pittsburgh and partners, has developed an exciting agenda of activities open to all in the region who want to celebrate a resilient city and a more sustainable Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh Earth Day.
Among several activities planned over multiple days, Sustainable Pittsburgh will be represented at the Sustainability Business Breakfast and Paint the Square Green, both scheduled for Friday, April 22. At the Business Breakfast, SP’s Program Director, Matthew Mehalik, is serving on a panel discussing the current climate of green industries and innovation in the Pittsburgh area. During lunchtime that same day, Sustainable Pittsburgh representatives will be on hand to share information about SP’s mission of accelerating the policy and practice of sustainability in southwestern PA and to assist folks with taking the “I Am Sustainable Pittsburgh” pledge. Taking the pledge demonstrates your commitment to a more sustainable Pittsburgh region! It’s accessible online at sustainablepittsburgh.org/iam.
Additionally, SP teamed up with Pittsburgh Earth Day organizers to recognize restaurants that have earned Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant designation (a sustainability performance recognition program). Several of these establishments are offering Earth Day menu specials. Be sure to click the “foodie” tab on the Pittsburgh Earth Day website for more details.
