Introducing new team members at Sustainable Pittsburgh

Posted on March 17, 2016 by gvinski

Sustainable Pittsburgh welcomes three new team members to help advance its mission of accelerating the policy and practice of sustainability in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Sustainable Community Coordinator Jim Price is working with communities throughout southwestern PA to improve their sustainability policies and practices and increase the number of certified sustainable municipalities. He is also working with communities and developers to ensure developments of regional importance are successfully addressing issues of sustainability. Jim brings years of working with local municipalities on a wide range of opportunities such as solar energy, Emergency Medical Services, and sustainability. He holds a Master of International Development in Development Planning and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Pittsburgh.

Gary Schwager, Director of Development and Finance, is responsible for monitoring and tracking Sustainable Pittsburgh’s impact, performance, and finances. Gary has worked as a financial systems management consultant and as an institutional investment analytics consultant helping large foundations, endowments and pension funds. He also brings a long history of assisting nonprofit organizations, serving in roles as board President and Treasurer. During his time as a volunteer board member for area nonprofits, he performed fundraising for these organizations. Gary holds a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.

Autumn Secrest, Sustainable Business Program Manager, is focusing on strengthening alignment among Sustainable Pittsburgh’s business programs by way of increased, measurable results from participants representing all sectors.  Prior to joining Sustainable Pittsburgh, she managed professional development programs and logistics for a variety of nonprofit and governmental organizations. She also developed workshops that respond to the business needs of entities impacted by environmental regulation. Autumn holds a Master’s in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
