Small Business Saturday (11/26) and Millvale Cash Mob (12/3)

November 17, 2016 by Anthony Closkey

Shop Small, Shop Sustainable on November 26

Sustainable Pittsburgh celebrates the more than 200 small business owners who have achieved the Sustainable Small Business Designation. This holiday season, consider shopping at any of the sustainable small businesses in your neighborhood!

We are excited to announce that this year, Sustainable Pittsburgh has become a Neighborhood Champion for Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is an initiative piloted by American Express, and officially recognized by the US Senate in 2011. Following “Black Friday”, Small Business Saturday is a day when consumers are encouraged to complete their holiday shopping at small, local businesses like those in our Sustainable Small Business network.

Connect with us on Facebook and tag us on Twitter @SWPA_SustSmlBiz. Use #SustainableSmallBiz when posting your Small Business Saturday posts to social media so that we can share your message.

Cash Mob Millvale on December 3

On Saturday, December 3, Sustainable Pittsburgh will host it’s first Cash Mob in a Platinum Certified Sustainable Community, Millvale Borough. In conjunction with Millvale’s Yuletide Tour, both the Sustainable Small Business Program and the Business Association of Millvale will be encouraging shoppers to do their holiday shopping at local businesses in the community. By picking up a “passport” at Millvale Library and collecting stickers at each of the businesses, shoppers can both learn about their local businesses and be entered into a raffle for prizes!
