53rd Annual World Affairs Institute: Navigating Climate Intersections

March 5 at 8:00 am 3:00 pm

For 53 years, the World Affairs Institute has engaged student leaders in deep discussions of key issues in international affairs to help them develop the skills to understand and think critically about their world.

Join us on March 5, 2024 at the University of Pittsburgh as we explore how to navigate our new climate reality and chart a path to a more secure and sustainable future for all.

People at all stages of their careers across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors are invited to register for the Changemakers Across Sectors track! Whether you are an artist or entrepreneur, a college student or retiree, an emerging professional or a senior executive – we want to see you.

If you’re interested in topics like fast fashion and the circular economy, climate migration havens, clean transportation, or green space access, the Institute will allow you to dive deeper into local and global climate intersections.

Exciting News! Sustainable Pittsburgh’s executive director Dr. Joylette Portlock is set to take the stage as a speaker at the upcoming World Affairs Institute: Navigating Climate Intersections. Join us to hear from Joylette and other incredible speakers as we explore how climate action intersects across sectors and connects Pittsburgh to wider regional and global initiatives.

The Institute is a partnership among Rotary International, Sustainable Pittsburgh, and World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh.
