Annual Iris Marion Young Event and Awards for Community Engagement

Iris Marion Young (1949 – 2006) was a professor at University of Pittsburgh, known for her passionate involvement with both Women’s Studies and community activism.

This event will include both an award ceremony for this year’s recipients of the Iris Marion Young Award, as well as a program on the theme «Expressing the New Pittsburgh: Art, Gentrification, & Urban Communities

LECTURE by Caitlin Bruce (COMM) about artists responding to gentrification, in Pittsburgh and other urban communities.

READING by Karen Lillis (GSWS), Pittsburgh novelist and writer

PERFORMANCE ART by Conflict Kitchen
