This talk will further explore the relationship between Black people and the environment. Recognizing that systemic racism has created inequitable barriers in access to the full suite of benefits of connecting with nature, from recreational to professional, and everything in between, how the Black Environmental Collective will assist in re-routing the sustainability sector back to the Environmental Justice movement, where marginalized voices and experiences dictate success. This talk will introduce the Collective to attendees, discuss vision and plans for the future of the network, and share how community members can support the initiative.
