Town Hall Education Forum on Lead Poisoning: Water, Paint, & Soil

2-21-2017 at 5:00 pm

What’s the plan on preventing and addressing children who have been exposed to lead poisoning?  Lead poisoning is 100% preventable.

Lead buildup in the body causes serious health problems, symptoms of which include headaches, irritability, abdominal pain, anemia, and others.  Additional complications come into play for children, as lead can affect developing nerves and brains.

Several invited guests including elected officials and representatives from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, Allegheny County Health Department, Family Court, local magistrates and judges, Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Economic Development’s Lead Abatement Program, Alma Illery Medicat Center, Homewood Community Development Collaborative, and ACLU.
